This is the bench where Mamma keeps her blankets.

Most people call it a deacon bench.  Most people don't know Mamma.  This bench was built as a Christmas gift for a classically unique woman in New York. The goal was to fill the void left under her staircase with something she could sit on, as well as use for storage.  This bench fits perfectly.

You can seat two people comfortably, and with almost 10,000 cubic inches of storage underneath, it fills the space with beauty, and functionality. Another TomCat original.

Built out of knotty pine and finished with a light stain and some lacquer, this bench was literally built from scratch. At 4 feet across, 4 feet high, and 18 inches deep, the primary directives were simply the measurements of the space we were trying to fill.  After that, it was all custom. No prints, no pictures, just genuine TomCat ingenuity.  The finished product speaks volumes to our custom spirit. And it kind of makes us want to sit down as well.  Maybe even take a nap. Mmmmm. Naps. Mmmmmmm.

Building beautiful, quality furniture without using a set of prints, or an example to go off of, truly allows us to stand behind our name, TomCat Customs. We. Are. Custom.

We weren't able to get professional photos taken of Mammas Bench.

However, the pictures don't have to be perfect to see that this piece is truly one of a kind.  The rounded edges that comprise the sides are hand traced and cut with a jig saw. No pattern, no tracing, just hand drawn, creative license. That's the way TomCat Customs prefers to build furniture.

The dragonfly is just another example of how TomCat can personalize and customize in any way possible.  This insect holds special significance to the client, so, we burn it into their furniture, we make it permanent, we make it part of their home, and thus part of their lives. We like doing things like this. Really.

We like it. We love it. We want some more of it.

Any man who doesn’t love his Mamma can’t be no friend of mine.
