This shelf is as rustic as it gets. Made from the scraps left behind after building the Blue Pine Bench, this piece came together completely unexpectedly, and it continues to please in much the same manner. The raw steel and unfinished nature of the wood exudes to the rustic feel and helps emphasize the true feel of the piece.
This particular slice of Blue Pine includes many different colors and knot holes that add to the gorgeous and natural beauty of the lumber. The shelf is unfinished, on purpose, to add to the rustic, natural attitude. Its one of a kind, and radiates beauty at every level.
Because it is unmilled lumber directly from the woods, the dimensions change along the length of the shelf. It is 22" at the bottom and 18" at the top. The height is 29" and the backboard is 1/2" thick.
The lowest shelf sits at 6 1/2" from the bottom. The middle sits at 15" and the top at 24". The total length between the hanging hooks is 16", making it the standard distance between structural studs in your home.
